Canterbury School PTO
All students are honored at Canterbury School!
January 1, 2008
Dear Business Partner,
The parents of children who attend Canterbury Elementary School (on Berkshire Drive in Crystal Lake) are volunteering their time and efforts to obtain donations for our annual Winter Carnival raffle and silent auction to be held on Saturday, February 23rd, 2008.
All proceeds of this raffle and auction will be used to enrich the educational environment of the students in kindergarten through fifth grade at Canterbury, many of the same children whose parents patronize your business. The PTO (Parent- Teacher Organization) has used its funds to improve the school library, help students attend cultural arts and science events, support the school play and many other activities. Canterbury students come from Crystal Lake, Cary and Lake in the Hills.
These children are our future. Your support will help us provide these students with the quality of education that we know our entire community wants for our children. If your business is willing to make a donation, you can call me and I will be happy to pick it up. Otherwise you may mail a donation to me at the following address:

When the donation has been received, you will receive a thank you letter for tax purposes. Please estimate the value of your donation so we can include that amount on your letter. For more information, please call me at (847)757-8000. Thanks in advance for your help and your support of our local schools.
Thank you,
Jill McHugh

Idea for a new Walter Story My nieces love the Walter series. They came up with an idea for a new story: Walter the Farting Dog, meets Lottie the Burping Dog, fall in love and make beautiful music together. (Lottie is my mothers dog(a Briard)and she really burps, alot!)Would you consider this for a new book??? My nieces would be thrilled!

Christmas ornament? Hello -
My boys are HUGE Walter fans. They have introduced him to their classmates and their very cool teachers read the books out loud and squeeze our Walter doll for sound effects! I have looked for and cannot find a Walter Christmas ornament. This is a must-have for us and I will pay an artist to paint one as a last resort but I'm hoping you would authorize the production of an "official" Walter ornament. If one becomes available please let me know!

Book Signing Good Morning and Happy Holidays!
We would like to mail a copy of Walter the Farting Dog Goes on a Cruise for your signature. We'd be happy to mail you (your agent) return postage as well. We would be using the signed copy of the book for our cruise themed auction at DeSales Catholic School, Lockport, New York in March 2009. Thank you for your consideration!
Be Well!

The Extraterrestrial Mr. Kotzwinkle, ET has always been my favorite movie and I have had the sequel for it in my head now for about 24 years. I know this is extremely presumptious of me, but now that I am retired I have the time to pursue writing the book and then hopefully having it made into a movie. I am now 59 years old and if I don't get started soon it might be to late. I am sure I need your permission to legally write a sequal to your original work and for the screen play as well for the movie, but I have no idea what the proper procedure is to even begin the process. I am extremely serious about this endevor. We all have our dreams, and this is mine. Please advise. Thank you. Sincerely, Karen Szachnitowski

Where's the spider? Hi Mr. Kotzwinkle! My students and I have really enjoyed your books, and Walter! In the book WALTER THE FARTING DOG, we noticed a spider in each of the illustrations, except one. The illustration of Walter eating the box of fart-free Biskwee is the one in question. Is the spider in there and we're just missing it? Any help you could give us on this would be greatly appreciated! Thanks so much and thanks for your time!

A new Walter book Everytime my 6 year old grandson and I get together, we read a Walter book. I am in NY and Will is in MA. This weekend we read the last Walter book. Will suggested that we should write one; so, we put our creative juices together and wrote and illustrated Walter Takes an Airplane Trip. What a wonderful, creative time this was together.
